Grandma's Porcelain
This sneaker is so close to my heart because it is not only inspired by ancient Chinese porcelain bowls but especially ones that my grandma used to have in the house when I was growing up.
This is currently on display at the In Bloom exhibit at the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto, Canada.
Vic's Favorite Pattern
Chinese porcelain motifs are some of my all time favorite to paint. Not only are the colours and shapes used so incredibly stunning, I just cannot get over the beauty of the hand-painted and hand-etched craftsmanship on these ancient ceramics. I find so much analogy in what I do with sneakers on these fine pieces of art. Can't wait to create more pieces inspired by this theme.
Gilded with Gold
Often the most special parts of the design are hidden gems and details that you can only see close up. This sneaker is carefully painted with 24kt gold along the edges of each panel, so when you pick up the sneakers it adds a touch of refined luxury to the whole design.
