Talk about a dream project! This 3-way partnership was the most perfect storm where we were able to push boundaries, work with a team of incredible people, innovate on classic sneakers, and revive the love for an incredible heritage brand!
Story-telling on Sneakers
There's nothing more daunting than customizing on a freshly reconstructed sneaker made by the one and only Ann Duskus, from STUDIODUSKUS. When I was able to find purpose in this design and incorporate the story of an emerge Monarch Butterfly from its chrysalis, I found the courage to portray an magnified view of its miraculous wings on the quarter panels of this custom. The result? The first of its kind, a sneaker bucket bag that is truly breathtaking!
New Materials
Our most beloved pastime here at CESTLAVIC? To experiment and incorporate new materials in the world of customs. Our core passion is in surface manipulations and finding novel techniques is the most rewarding challenge for us!
For this project we meticulously hand-cut polymer beads of different heights to create this wave-like cascading pattern that complimented the bespoke double-rugged-outsoles. This was a first for us, but definitely not the last!
